Find Out the Secret of Benefiting from over 100 Books Each Year

I didn't believe it the first time I heard a friend of mine say -

"I benefit from the reading of 50 books each year... in my spare time".

Knowing how demanding her time was because of her top position in her job and because she is a single mom, I was certain she was lying and I told her so.

Smiling, she insisted that it was the truth. I would have continued arguing with her until she pointed out to me that she didn't have to physically "read" them, but they were "read" to her while she listened... in her spare time.

Not giving me any opportunity to argue, she went ahead and played an audio book on her CD player for my perusal.

She explained that this was how she had almost any book she wanted read to her as audio books while she prepared for work in the morning, while she prepared her daughter for school, while she did her exercises each day, while she commuted to and from work and any free time she had on hands that didn't involve using her mind.

I was surprised, to say the least, that I could have been doing the same thing in my spare time, instead of just commuting to and from work doing nothing.

You see, my work is one that requires a lot of my time involvement. I have to leave home quite early, spend over an hour on the road because of the constant heavy traffic and when I get to work, I work all day until break time and closing time.

From what this friend of mine explained to me, I knew I had to give audio books a try.

I did and was very impressed.

Now, I can proudly say I also benefit from the reading of up to 50 books each year.

Still don't think it's possible?

Fine, let's do the math:

For an audio book that takes 4 hours, you can have it read to you in just two days - 1 hour each day while preparing for work in the morning and 1 hour each day while commuting to and from work. That's 4 hours in 2 days.

So, if it takes you 2 days to have one audio book read to you, that will be 365 days in a year divided by 2. That will equal about 133 books each year!

That's over double the original 50 audio books we were targeting, right?

Audio books are indeed the secret formula that many people use to get the value from the best books they want to read. With audio books, you can forget the frustration you always had whenever you force yourself to read any book.

For the bookworms back in college that want to continue reading but can't afford the time anymore, you now have a solution in audio books.

Whether you want to use your PC, cassette tape player, CD or even any PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), it is now possible and within your reach for peanuts.

Risk

Risk
In this classic game of military strategy, you will lead your armies as they sweep across vast continents to launch daring attacks against your enemies. But keep an eye on your flanks: your opponents are fighting to capture your troops and claim your territories. Reinforce your armies with additional infantry, cavalry and artillery, then attack with a throw of the dice. Now fortify your positions and prepare to defend your borders from rivals' attacks. Capture all 42 territories - and you conquer the world! Are you up to the challenge' Then embark on the classic Risk game of World Domination. For more challenge, use the rules variations for experts. And for a shorter variation, try the Capital Risk game. For the first time, Risk includes the European game variation called Secret Mission Risk, whose special cards give each player a specific "mission" to complete to win the game. So join the battle to conquer the world... and learn why, since 1959, millions of players have made Risk the military strategy game of choice. For 2 to 6 players. Game includes: game board; 5 battle dice; deck of 44 Risk cards and 12 secret mission cards; 6 sets of military miniatures: infantry, cavalry, artillery.

Customer Review: Risk

This is a game that take a great deal of time to play, but it causes your mind to work as you progress through the levels.

The sudden turn of events will always keep the players on edge.

Customer Review: Good game - but I miss the army boxes

We bought this game of risk to replace our old game, which was lost in a move. There are several differences in the new risk and the old risk. One difference is the mission cards. At first I was disapointed that the mission cards were not the same as the old risk, but after playing a few games, I admit that it is just as much fun. The other difference with the game is the lack of army boxes. The old game came with a clear plastic box to store each army color in. This game does not have boxes, just wells in the box to store each color. The clear boxes were quite useful during the game as you spend a lot of time taking armies out and putting armies in the box as you lose or gain reinforcements. I find the lack of boxes a pain as pieces fall on the floor etc. when you just have them piled on the table. However, it is still a great game and we are happy with this version.

Living Yoga - Power Stamina Yoga for Beginners

Living Yoga - Power Stamina Yoga for Beginners
The Living Arts® Yoga for Beginners stamina video is an easy-to-use beginners program designed to help you learn the basics for power yoga.

Customer Review: Great for someone w/ a little yoga experience

When I first began yoga, this tape quickly become my favorite after familiarizing myself w/ basic poses (using Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss). I would recommend this to someone who has learned the basics and is looking for something a little more challenging.

Rodney Yee is practicing on a beach, in Hawaii. The majority of this workout conisists of Sun Salutations w/ lunges and Warrior poses. There are a few seated or lying down moves and a nice 5 min. cooldown at the end. Total workout time: 20 min.

All in all, this is a great tape to have if you are a beginner who is ready to move on OR as a standby for the more advanced practitioner as its a nice quick, feel good workout.

Customer Review: My go-to yoga tape!

This was one of two tapes I got when I started practicing yoga. (The other was Living Arts Total Yoga, which I also like, but which is somewhat different in style and is 60 minutes long.) I agree with other reviewers that Rodney Yee goes through the poses very quickly, not allowing much time to contemplate them or adjust into them. But as a beginner, I did not find this an impediment to enjoying the practice. As one reviewer pointed out, yoga is a journey. You're not going to be able to do every pose perfectly the first time. In fact, the beginning of every yoga tape urges the user to view the whole tape first. Show of hands, how many have actually done that? Yeah, me neither. Then maybe we'll have to accept that we'll be a little awkward the first few times.

I have since bought many other tapes (and some books) that have helped me understand each pose better. However, I still learn something new every time I do this workout. I like the flow of one pose to another. I like the repetition, too. And it is a nice little complete workout. You'll stretch, strengthen, breathe hard, stretch some more, and relax. The poses are somewhat challenging, yet very accessible to beginners. I always feel very bendy and centered afterward.

It's important to me to do some form of exercise every day. The length of this tape makes it easy to fit into my life. It's the tape I reach for most often for that reason.

E-SATA - USB 2.0 - Firewire 400 and 800 Interface / Mac Formatted Only

Customer Review: Simple and easy with Time Machine

I simply hooked up the firewire connection and then turned it on. Time Machine picked it right up and keeps on updating my back-ups every hour. Love it. I have checked the Time Machine back-ups and all is there. Obviously I am using a Mac so maybe that is why it works so well.

Customer Review: Partially DOA

This drive required multiple connects and disconnects of the ac power cable to even start up. Software was confusing. Tech support in India totally frustrating. I returned the unit.
